A Message From the Hotel Manager,
Of all the Astoria Oregon hotels, I believe the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa offers a unique experience. Being 300 feet from the shipping channel, our location provides our guests with unparalleled views of the river trafic. Adding our unique amenities, such as classic antique chauffeured cars, vintage bicycles, wine and smoked fish, creates a very special stay. Below are a few of our guest comments. If you would like to share your experience please send your e-mail to email@example.com.

What people are saying about the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa
My dad had often told me the wonders of Cannery Pier Hotel- and I was still blown away when I arrived.
The hotel is luxury combined with being boutique-y, unique, and an adventure. The lobby is beautifully constructed and a wonderful place to sit and read with a great view. The spa is open 24/7 so I was able to take a late night Jacuzzi- which was the perfect way to relax after a long drive from the Olympic peninsula. I took a warm bath in one of the claw-footed bathtubs, which I thought was very cool. And the shower had granite backings which I found were a great touch.
The beds were very comfortable and I slept very cozily. We left the electric fireplace on throughout the night and kept the window open where we could hear the waves.
When we arrived I was so excited to see two huge ships passing just underneath the beautiful Astoria bridge! And just a stones through away from where I stood in the lobby. Which was a beautiful lobby. The architecture here was very well thought through and obviously created with love.
Finally, the staff were so friendly and eager to help. After taking cookies I was offered wine or another beverage. In the morning the front desk staff helped us with other plans and complications. The always had an open ear and were very professional yet friendly.
I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
"Weather No Stars, Hotel 5 Stars"
This was our first trip to Astoria and the weather did not cooperate. We were there for two nights but we had rain most of the time and the temp was a little chilly. I had read about Astoria in a book about the fur trade in America and actually being there verified much of what I had read. It's a neat little town and we plan to go back, hopefully to better weather. But the hotel is great. We were greeted and even though we were late for the wine hour, we were provided with wine for our first night. It was a very good Oregon Pinot. The staff were very cooperative in our every request and the room and entire hotel was very clean. The beds were very comfortable and being able to step out on the balcony and get a close-up view of ships was really neat. The room was quite for sleeping and we felt refreshed each morning. The morning breakfast was very good and the fact that fruit was always available was a nice bonus. We will be going back to Astoria and the Cannery Pier will be our base camp.
"THE PLACE to stay in Astoria"
A spur of the moment trip to the coast during a week of beautiful weather turned out to be amazing and this hotel was great. Excellent bed, gorgeous bathroom, everything on the room was just right, even the binoculars provided!
I applaud the hotel for not using Styrofoam or plastic. They offer a wine and cheese happy hour with real dishes and glasses. Same for the breakfast! It can be done! Maybe some of those hotel chains that offer similar breakfast menus for hotels of comparable size can take notice and care for our environment better. Plus, it is nicer for us guests. Well done Cannery Pier!!!
"Simply the best"
My Wife and I stayed here for one night for our 30th wedding anniversary, and to say we were impressed is an understatement. I am UK had chosen the hotel based solely on Trip Advisor reviews, knowing that we would be somewhere in there Washington / Oregon area for the day of our anniversary.
I mentioned on the booking that we were celebrating and we were delighted to receive the congratulation of the staff when we booked in and found a wonderful hand written note and a gift from the Management in our room - a brilliant, and well appreciated, touch.
From our experience, there is nothing negative to say about the hotel at all - the luxurious rooms with their balconies and excellent fittings are superb - the little touches like binoculars to watch the ships and the sea lions from your balcony, the daily shipping list provided by reception, the DIRECTV channels, the fantastic bed and bathroom all fit in with the quality the hotel exudes.
We enjoyed the salmon and cheese reception and were delighted when the reception staff gave us a selection of menus from local restaurants - they made the booking for us and offered to provide transport in one of their vintage cars, but the restaurant we chose was the Bridgewater Bistro, which is only a short walk down the pier.
The continental breakfast was also first class.
I rarely submit five star reviews on Trip Advisor, but this hotel is well worth every one of the five.
"Room with a View"
Visited Astoria and stayed two nights at the Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa with my daughter. She is from Portland and I am from Upstate NY. This hotel was amazing! The view of the River and Bridge were surreal. The shipping vessels that passed seemed magical out our window and so close! The room itself was exceptional. I cannot find anything negative to say about it! The hotel staff was very accommodating. The wine, cheese and salmon hour for free were a great and classy touch. We both had a SPA treatment and were pampered. We also used the FREE car service in their antique autos to go to dinner and although we stayed at the Fort George Brewery past their service time a cab was called and promptly arrived and to top it off the hotel staff came out and paid the cab fare!!! We would love to stay here again anytime!
"Don't miss this experience"
We have stayed at the Cannery Pier three times now and will be returning again in a week or so. We have travelled a good deal around the US and Europe. This is an exceptional hotel which offers the amazing experience of being on the mouth of the great Columbia River, watching majestic tankers move right outside your window. The staff is among the finest we have encountered. The rooms are comfortable and quite lovely. Astoria itself is a quaint town offering a terrific Maritime Museum which helps create an understanding of the history and the power of the Columbia as it opens into the Pacific Ocean. There are also excellent restaurants which focus on the bounty of the river and the ocean. Don't miss a stay at this hotel.
